Better Way of Miami is a non-profit behavioral health center providing substance use disorders and mental health services to the community. Funding is received from various sources. Better Way is regularly reviewed by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) through the managing entity, the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Florida Medicaid and other regulating entities.
Better Way programs are structured as three separate programs on a continuum of gradually lessening intensity: Residential, Intensive Outpatient (Day/Night) and regular Outpatient. This allows cost efficient and effective use of Better Way's treatment and rental assisted housing resources. It also permits the flexibility to place clients according to individual need in the least restrictive setting, since, with the exception of the Residential treatment program, housing is now considered separately from treatment and other services. Clients may move through treatment in any direction, based on their progress, or lack of progress, in accomplishing their recovery goals.
Obamacare purchased from the Health Care Marketplaces covers Mental Health Care and Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Under the Health Care Law there are 10 categories of benefits. Mental Health Care and Substance Abuse Treatment are two of the 10.
If you have Affordable Care Act Coverage you will have mental health care coverage.
