Community Mental Health Center

Steward Good Samaritan Medical Center is a certified Community Mental Health Center and therefore operates through federal and state funds made possible by the Community Mental Health Act. The purpose of these funds to make diagnosis and treatment available to low-income and indigent individuals. The services are either free or under a sliding-scale. These services are available to people of all ages who do not have health insurance.

Community Services Block Grant

The US Department of Health and Human Services offers funds in the form of Community Services Block Grants to all states. The purpose of these funds is to reduce poverty by helping low-income individuals and families find work, access education, obtain housing, and improve their health. Steward Good Samaritan Medical Center is a recipient of this grant. You may qualify for assistance provided you meet low-income eligibility requirements but you must apply by contacting the following office:

Federal Grants

Steward Good Samaritan Medical Center receives federal grants destined for mental health services. This means that Steward Good Samaritan Medical Center either recieved money to obtain certification or training for its employees or it has recieved money to offer services such as suicide prevention, telehealth programs, or other behavioral initiatives.

Medicare

Steward Good Samaritan Medical Center accepts Medicare, a federal health insurance program for people age 65 and older and people with disabilities.

Medicare covers a wide range of mental health services.

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) covers inpatient mental health care services you get in a hospital. Part A covers your room, meals, nursing care, and other related services and supplies.

All state Medicaid programs provide some mental health services. Steward Good Samaritan Medical Center accepts Medicaid, a joint federal and state program that helps with medical costs for some people with low incomes and limited resources. Medicaid programs vary from state to state.
