The Castro Mission Health Center (CMHC) primary target populations include Latinos, the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) communities. CMHC has a strong focus on treating families, and women and individuals with HIV.
The Center has a well-established reputation in the community for its innovative thinking and its responsiveness to the identified medical needs of the communities it serves. In fact, it was the first public health clinic in the United States to locate an HIV testing
site in its premises.
CMHC has General Primary Care clinics, a Mental Health program, Multidiagnosis Program (MDP), Women's Clinics, confidential HIV testing, Nutritional and Substance Use Counseling Services. Other specialty services include HIV and diabetes health education
clinics, EKGs, pediatric audiometry, eye van, and podiatry.
The health center provides pregnancy testing and counseling, immunizations, and tuberculosis screening.
Obamacare purchased from the Health Care Marketplaces covers Mental Health Care and Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Under the Health Care Law there are 10 categories of benefits. Mental Health Care and Substance Abuse Treatment are two of the 10.
If you have Affordable Care Act Coverage you will have mental health care coverage.
