Health and medical center for those individuals and families not able
to find a doctor or get medical care because of financial difficulties,
or because of in-adequate private or government insurance. It
is staffed by volunteers, including the physicians and nurses.
Eligibility: Low income residents of the Lee County area who are unable to get medical care because of financial problems are those the VCC hopes to serve. You may be asked to bring some records like canceled checks or bills to help determine if you are eligible.
Services:
General Medical services.
Prescription for drugs the VCC does not have. When necessary, payment for prescriptions the patient cannot afford.
Referral to participating specialist physicians.
Referral to Health Department or local facility for patients needing X-Rays, lab tests, surgery, prenatal care, etc.
School or work certificates verifying illness if patient has been seen by VCC physicians.
Determination of pregnancy.
Counseling services.
Referral to social service agencies or mental health services.
Routine well child care.
You will be asked to make a voluntary
donation to the VCC. A five dollar ($5.00) donation will be appreciated
but is not required. Also, you will be asked to contribute one
hour of community service for each VCC visit.
Obamacare purchased from the Health Care Marketplaces covers Mental Health Care and Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Under the Health Care Law there are 10 categories of benefits. Mental Health Care and Substance Abuse Treatment are two of the 10.
If you have Affordable Care Act Coverage you will have mental health care coverage.
