Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County has MANY programs to help people.
Behavioral Health is just one of them. The Catholic Charities behavioral health program at San Jose provides help toolder adults, adults and children get on the road to wellness and recovery to overcome these barriers and make positive life changes. If you or someone you know are facing problems as a result of these issues, we may be able to help.
Most of our programs are funded by MediCal, State and Federal Grants or local grants and serve specific vulnerable groups struggling with these issues.
Issues such as depression, mental illness and substance abuse can be major barriers to achieving economic self-sufficiency. They can keep a person's life in constant turmoil and make it hard to hold down a job or achieve other important goals. Oftentimes, persons facing these issues will experience unemployment, homelessness and other related socioeconomic problems if their condition is left untreated.
Golden Gateway Program
Golden Gateway delivers community-based mobile outreach to older adults 60+ years with undiagnosed depression and other mental health problems. Clients may be physically, linguistically or culturally isolated, homebound or shut-in. Golden Gateway will serve consumers, including the Asian, African American, Latino and American Indian populations.

All state Medicaid programs provide some mental health services. Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County accepts Medicaid, a joint federal and state program that helps with medical costs for some people with low incomes and limited resources. Medicaid programs vary from state to state.
