Examples of how ANHSI addresses access to care, fills health care gaps and meets community needs:
Serves all needing care: The Health Center is able to serve anyone regardless of age, income, health insurance, place of residence, or ability to pay.
Meets walk-in needs: ANHSI is committed to addressing the needs of community members who walk in seeking health care. Many other centers in Alexandria and surrounding areas are not able to meet walk-in needs.
Provides comprehensive care: ANHSI staff treats the whole person, not just the presenting symptom or problem. The patient is an active member of the health care team and both physical and psychosocial issues are addressed. Patient education is an important part of the health care visit.
Complements other health care providers in the community: ANHSI actively networks with and responds proactively to referrals from community agencies and collaborates to avoid costly duplication of services.
