Chronic Care Clinic held Tuesday and Wednesday mornings serves patients with complex problems, General Medical Clinic held Wednesday evenings offers both acute and chronic outpatient care, Specialty Clinics include gynecology, nephrology, gastroenterology, orthopedic and cardiology, Licensed pharmacy services provided Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and Wednesday evenings, Medication Assistance gives patients access to free medications from drug manufacturers, Dental Clinic held each first and third Tuesday evening for extractions, GAP offers referrals to chronically ill, stable patients for follow-up visits with their own community doctor, Other services include social work, individualized patient education, medical lab, mental health diagnosis and referrals, nursing assessment, and nutrition consultation.
Their mission at the Harrisonburg Rockingham Free Clinic is to partner with uninsured residents for improved health and life-style change.
The Free Clinic serves people who meet all of the following criteria:
- Resident of Harrisonburg City or Rockingham County
- Adults, 18 years and older
- Do not have or qualify for any type of medical insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare
- Have a household income (before taxes) that is 200% or less of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
- United States Legal Resident or Citizen
The Free Clinic will provide services to all who meet the criteria outlined in this policy without regard to race, ethnic origin, religion, language capability, gender, age, or disability.
Eligibility Appointments
If you are interested in becoming a patient at the Free Clinic you will need to schedule an eligibility appointment first by calling 540.433.5431x106 during listed office hours. If you are approved, you will receive 12-months of eligibility and you can schedule your first medical appointment. Without active eligibility, you cannot be seen at the Clinic. It is your responsibility to call the Free Clinic at 433-5431 about two weeks before your eligibility expires to schedule an eligibility renewal appointment.
Eligibility appointments take place during the following times:
Monday 9am-12pm
Tuesday 9am-12pm
Wednesday 9am-12pm and 5:45-7pm
Obamacare purchased from the Health Care Marketplaces covers Mental Health Care and Substance Use Disorder Treatment. Under the Health Care Law there are 10 categories of benefits. Mental Health Care and Substance Abuse Treatment are two of the 10.
If you have Affordable Care Act Coverage you will have mental health care coverage.
