The Mission of the Virginia Beach Department of Public Health Clinic is to promote physical and mental health and prevent disease, injury and disability in the citizens of Virginia Beach. Prevention services are the main focus of the clinics. A multi-disciplinary public health team provides services to improve or maintain the well being of the person and the community as a whole. The Health Department provides direct services for specific diseases that threaten the health of the community and develops programs that prevent, contain, and control the transmission of infectious diseases. Health services, including preventive health services, are provided to high risk and vulnerable populations. Services include coordination, education, follow-up, referral, and case management as indicated.
This Health Center is based on Sliding scale fees which are variable prices for products, services, or taxes based on a customer's ability to pay. Such fees are thereby reduced for those who have lower incomes, or alternatively, less money to spare after their personal expenses, regardless of income.
Virginia Beach Department of Public Health operates under a sliding fee scale payment model. What this means to you is that Virginia Beach Department of Public Health provides their services even to patients who cannot afford care (such as low-income or who people who need to self-pay). Patients will pay according to their income. Be prepared to provide information on your household income.
